The ornamental lighting installed in Madrid for Christmas this year has new designs. Gran Vía is illuminated with lights that look like starry sky and in some of them you can see the figure of a cat trying to catch the stars. In turn, the streets of Jorge Juan, Marcelo Usera, Pedro Laborde and Boltaña will be boasting Christmas motifs. The usual municipal circuit includes ornamental Christmas lights design, light chains that will illuminate trees and public spaces, and cherry blossoms that will illuminate different points of the city such as the Glorieta de Carlos V and Matadero. This year, 2 new places have been added: the Plaza de Oriente and the Central Patio del Conde Duque.
There will be no lack of traditional Christmas trees that you can find at Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Callao, Plaza de Colón (with Genoa), Plaza San Juan de la Cruz and Calle Fuencarral. You can also see gorgeous Christmas decorations at Velázquez Street, Calle Mayor and Carrera de San Jerónimo.
